Chelsea interested in re-signing Marc Guehi as Wesley Fofana's replacement

The Blues are looking to find Wesley Fofana's replacement
Chelsea are considering a move for Marc Guéhi of Crystal Palace after Wesley Fofana suffered a significant rupturing ACL.
Chelsea have put a lot of emphasis on selling players, recent departure has been Aubameyang, who will sign a three-year contract with Marseille.
The former Arsenal attacker has been struggling since moving from Barcelona last summer, and Mauricio Pochettino's decision to exclude the 34-year-old from the team's preseason visit to the United States made his departure inevitable.
Pochettino, who has allowed a number of experienced players depart, wants to bolster his midfield, and after having a £70 million proposal for Moisés Caicedo rejected by Brighton, Chelsea is anticipated to boost its offer for the midfielder.
However, they might have to look for a central defender after Fofana undergoes surgery for a torn ACL. It is said that they have expressed interest in Guéhi, who moved from Chelsea to Palace two years ago.
Chelsea has the ability to match offers from other clubs as Guéhi graduated from their academy. Although they have kept tabs on the England centre-back, Arsenal and Tottenham have not made a move for him. Palace probably would want to turn a sizable profit after acquiring him for £18 million in 2021.
Marc Guehi's time at Selhurst Park
The 23-year-old made an impression when playing for Selhurst Park, and he stands a solid chance of making England's selection for Euro 2024.
Chelsea will need to decide whether to invest a significant sum of money in a defender in response to the possibility that Fofana will miss the majority of the upcoming season.
Despite selling Kalidou Koulibaly, Pochettino still has Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, Thiago Silva, and Levi Colwill to pick from.
However, Internazionale has an eye in Chalobah, Badiashile is rehabilitating from a groyne injury, and Silva turns 39 in September.
Although it has been emphasised that they have not yet made a serious approach for Guéhi, Chelsea is assessing whether they need extra depth in this uncertain circumstance.
Other names will be considered, and Chelsea will think about whether they require an imposing centre-back in particular given their lack of height in central midfield.
