Chelsea set to make improved offer of £70m+ for Moises Caicedo

The Brighton midfielder is the primary target for the Blues
This week, Chelsea will improve their bid to £70 million+ for Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old has already reached a personal agreement with Chelsea, and he is now hoping that the next offer would persuade Brighton to accept his ideal transfer.
There is concern that Brighton may reject their revised offer after rejecting a similar amount from Arsenal before the January transfer window. Brighton turned down a £60 million proposal from Chelsea to sign their top midfield target earlier.
After benchmarking their demand to the £105 million Arsenal paid to acquire Declan Rice from West Ham, Brighton is holding out.
In recent weeks, Brighton officials have been in touch with Chelsea's co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, who routinely update new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Following Chelsea's latest fire purchase, Pochettino has acknowledged that he wants to "finish the squad" before the preseason tour of the United States because he is short on midfield ability.
Chelsea's outgoing this summer
As Chelsea raised almost £230 million by selling 11 players, N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have left west London in recent weeks.
A second midfielder might enter as a result of the talent drain, as Chelsea is considering offers for Southampton's Romeo Lavia and Celta Vigo's Gabri Veiga during the summer window.
While Winstanley and Stewart have researched available strikers, Pochettino is also open to adding one. However, the manager will give preseason potential to recent additions Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson as well as Armando Broja, who has recovered from a severe knee injury he suffered in December.
Romelu Lukaku, on the other hand, will not be accompanying Chelsea's touring group and is now scheduled to return to Cobham on Tuesday.
Rival Inter Milan walked out of negotiations with Juventus in rage over the weekend due to the 30-year-old's discussions with them. Lukaku encouraged them in both public and private life that he wished to stay in San Siro while Inter pursued a long-term transfer.
