Al Hilal lead the race to secure the signature of Serbian midfielder.

With just one year left on his current deal with Lazio, Sergej Milinković-Savić has been linked with a move away from Stadio Olimpico this summer. Claudio Lotito has been reluctant to see the highly sought-after midfielder leave, but Milinkovic-Savic’s desire for a new challenge has seen the Lazio chief allow him to leave.

Lazio are now open to doing business for the Serbian midfielder but will demand at least €40 million. The former Genk man is not short on suitors, with Serie A and other European clubs closely monitoring his situation in Rome.

5. Atletico Madrid

Atletico have been in the back seat for the recent three years as Barcelona and Real Madrid have dominated the La Liga and Copa Del Rey. Even Sevilla and Villareal have enjoyed more European success than Atletico which have created doubts about Simeone’s managerial time.

However, Atletico have backed him and he will be looking to make new transfers in order to get prepared for the season. They are however not known to spend much on a player but Savic could be the answer to their midfield. They have secured the signing of Grizemann back from Barcelona and will now look to make a strong statement by securing Serbian if they feel his price would be something they could feel justified.

4. Juventus

Italians will be looking to boost their midfield and find a pair for Rabiot to run the midfield next season. Juventus have seen the departure of various veterans such as Di Maria and Cuadrado. Juventus have last season been on a roller coaster after their 11 – points deductions which were in limbo till the last minute of the season.

The result of which has they missed the European spot and will have to compete only for Italian titles in the league. This has not only affected their next season but transfers as well, with players to reluctant to join until the wages are something justified.

3. Chelsea

The Blues have made up to 200M in sales after their staggering clear out of players under the new ownership and direction of Bohley. They had already signed Nkunku during the last January transfer and are now searching for a replacement for Kante and Mount.

Savic will be the perfect recruitment given his experience and age, he could be one of the players in the long run. With the asking price of Lazio and the spending pocket of Chelsea, both are in the equation and Savic would be interested as well for Premier League action. They however will be again only involved in the league action because of missing the European spot which is the only drawback.

2. AC Milan

AC Milan have registered an interest in Sergej Milinković-Savić after watching Sandro Tonali complete a big-money move to Newcastle United worth a reported €70m. The Rossoneri are on the hunt for Tonali’s long-term replacement and are expected to reinvest a chunk of the funds from the Italian’s sale into finding his successor.

Sergej Milinković-Savić has been on Milan’s radar for a while, but they have not been able to act on their long-standing interest due to a lack of funds. However, Tonali’s departure has handed them the war chest they need to fund Milinkovic-Savic’s transfer, and the Serbian is now a priority target.

1. Al Hilal

Al Hilal have expressed high interest in signing Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Serie A side Lazio for a reported fee of over 40 million euros. Savic, who was pursued by the likes of Juventus, Milan and Inter, will be opting to lose out on Champions League football, given the reported move goes through.

It has been stated that the Saudi side is offering Lazio a fee of around 40 million euros to sign the Serbian on a three-year deal. All that is apparently left is for the 28-year-old to discuss and arrive at a decision regarding his personal terms with Al Hilal, as Lazio seems ready to let go of the midfielder. They are now in the prime spot to make this player their midfielder along with Neves.
