Fulham agree £5.5m deal to sign Mexican striker Raul Jimenez

The Mexican striker could be Aleksandar Mitrovic's replacement

Premier League side Wolves are in talks with Fulham to sign their star striker, Raul Jimenez, for around £5.5 million.

The Mexican player, who has just a year left on his current deal and is reportedly redundant due to demands, has been in talks to join another Premier League team, Fulham, and the two sides are finally settling on a cost.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is willing to make the switch to Al Hilal despite Fulham rejecting two bids from the Saudi Arabian club, is being replaced by Jimenez at the London club.

Jimenez was disliked by Julen Lopetegui this past season and was bound to leave this summer, despite starting preseason practice again recently.

The agreement will additionally contain add-ons that Wolves can use to perhaps raise more money.

Now that Wolves' training session in Portugal is over, Jimenez will fly there on Monday for his Fulham medical.

Al Ahli is trying to sign Riyad Mahrez and Allan Saint-Maximin from the Premier League and is waiting on an answer from Silva on the position of manager.

Jiménez, 32, signed a deal with the Midlands team in 2019 that runs through June 30, 2024. He has scored 40 goals in 135 matches in the Premier League since leaving Benfica.

As Aleksander Mitrovic intends to join another Saudi Pro League team, Al Hilal, Jiménez is currently on the club's radar.

After the club slapped a £52 million price tag on the forward, Mitrovic informed his relatives that he would not play for the team again.

The Serbian international is upset that Craven Cottage refused to negotiate a lower fee for him.
