The Serbian is keen on joining Saudi club

Fulham have rejected a £25.5 million for their Serbian star Aleksandar Mitrovic, despite the striker's desire to play in the Saudi Pro League.

With the addition of the Fulham striker, Al Hilal will have signed both Kalidou Koulibaly and Ruben Neves this summer, giving them a hat-trick of Premier League victories.

The Serbian, who played a key role in the Cottagers' ascent to the top division a year previous and scored 14 league goals last season, is eager to make the lucrative move.

Al Hilal's initial offer of £25.5 million was turned down by Fulham, according to Sky Sports News, therefore the Saudi club will need to up its offer to lure him away from west London.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is determined to join the Saudi initiative as the newest name, according to sources close to the player. If he does so, Fulham will make a tiny profit on the deal that brought the 28-year-old to Craven Cottage in 2018.

Should his dream come true, Aleksandar Mitrovic would be in a position to join his Serbian teammate Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is reportedly close to joining the club for £34 million. He had previously been wanted by Liverpool and Arsenal, and Manchester United pursued him last summer.

However, the 28-year-old has chosen to accept a whopping £17 million annual salary for his work in Saudi Arabia.

Mitrovic and Milinkovic-Savic joining an Al Hilal lineup that already includes Neves and Koulibaly show the league's commitment to being taken seriously as a credible power.

The team has not only signed European players who are at the peak of their careers, but Al Hilal have also signed three-time Portuguese winner and former Benfica manager Jorge Jesus to oversee their team.
