Fans may now select their teams in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) in preparation for the resumption of the EFL's premier division in 2023–24.

However, for those who have fallen behind thus far, here is everything you need to understand in order to participate in the FPL action before the return of the 2023–24 Premier League campaign.

How to play Fantasy Premier League 2023-24

FPL players must first create an account on the FPL website, register, and select a team identity. You are tasked with selecting a roster of 15 players who will score points for your side depending on their performances in Premier League games while playing as the head coach of Premier League players.

How are points given out?

According to goals, assists, saves, and clean sheets, players receive points. Players that do well in a game can be rewarded with extra bonus points in Fantasy.

The starting XI scores all of your team's points for the "game week," but if one of your starters does not appear for his or her club in that round of matches, the first player on your bench scores points instead. If just two or three players show up, the same thing happens.

Additionally, the points obtained by choosing a captain from the starting lineup are doubled for that game week.

How to choose an FPL team

Two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders, and three strikers should make up a team. No more than a maximum of three players from any one Premier League team may be selected, and you have 90 minutes before the first game of the game week kicks off to decide your starting lineup. Additionally, managers are limited to joining one team.

In the transfer market, footballers can also be purchased and sold, and up until the first deadline, any number of transfers can be made without incurring any fees.

Coaches are limited to one free move for each Gameweek after the first restriction of the season has passed. This allows them to acquire a player to trade for a player from their 15-man roster as long as the transfer is within their budget.

Subsequent transfers are permitted, but they will cost a total of four points. The free transfer can be carried over to the following week if the coach does not utilise it, and you are then entitled to two more free signings.

Prior to the start of the season, player prices remain constant.

Exist FPL Leagues?

A new team will be automatically added to the international leagues, but supporters may participate and set up "mini-leagues" to engage in competition with acquaintances and others from all over the world. There is no cap on the total amount of clubs in just one league, and you are allowed to play in up to 25 separate leagues.
