The Portuguese star looks set to leave Atletico Madrid this summer

Joao Felix is expected to move this summer, the 23-year-old Atletico Madrid striker who was out on loan with Chelsea is expected to end up at PSG. With the Parisians looking for a striker to replace outgoing mainstays Lionel Messi and striker Kylian Mbappe, who is more than likely to leave this summer.

Amidst speculation about where he ends up next, the Portuguese international revealed how he aspires to play for Barcelona one day.

While talking to the media, he was quoted as saying. –

“I’d love to play for Barca. Barcelona has always been my first choice and I’d love to join Barca. It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”

The 23-year-old Portuguese striker moved from Benfica to Atletico Madrid for a record €127m, however, after scoring 25 goals in 96 appearances he was loaned to Chelsea for 6 months. He failed to make an impact at Stamford bridge, scoring a meagre 4 goals in 20 appearances. At the end of his loan spell, The Blues refused to buy him.

Joao Felix is almost destined to move this summer, with reports suggesting that the striker has fallen out of favour with Atletico manager Diego Simeone, who is eager to offload him. Joao Felix has almost been cast out of Atletico Madrid’s plans.

It must be noted that Barcelona did try to sign the striker in the summer of 2022. However, the deal fell out because of the price tag Atletico Madrid attached to him.

Even now, Atletico Madrid are putting a €90 million price tag on the striker. And given Barcelona’s critical financial situation, it is unlikely that the current terms will attract attention from the Culers. With his most likely destination being PSG. However, it remains to be seen even if the Parisians will go through with the current terms.

However, there might be some good news for Joao Felix. After revealing his desires to play for The Blaugranas last night, it has been reported that Atletico Madrid have presented an offer to send him out on loan to Barcelona with and option to buy him at the end if his loan spell. This arrangement may work out in everyone’s favour as it suits the financial conditions of the LaLiga champions much better.
