Italy and Turkey submit joint bid to host Euro 2032

Italy currently remains the holder of UEFA European Championship
The UK and the Republic of Ireland may have a better chance of organising the competition in 2028 as a result of Turkey's request to combine its candidature to host Euro 2032 with Italy.
Turkey submitted a bid to host both the 2028 and 2032 competitions, while Italy only submitted a bid for the 2032 event.
The UK and Republic of Ireland's five-nation candidature continues to face competition from Turkey's single 2028 proposal.
On October 10, Uefa will select the venues for both competitions.
Turkey is most likely going to wait until their combined proposal is accepted by Uefa before officially withdrawing from the competition to host Euro 2028, but if and when that happens, the UK and Ireland offer would be left unchallenged.

FIGC president Gabriele Gravina added: "We are facing a historic turning point that aims to enhance continental football. Football wants to be an ideal bridge for sharing passions and emotions related to sport."
European football's governing body says it will work with both the Turkish and Italian federations to "ensure that the documentation to be submitted for their joint bid is compliant with the bidding requirements.
Turkey has never staged an important sporting event, however, it played host to the June Champions League Final involving Manchester City and Inter Milan at Istanbul's Atatürk Olympic Stadium.
Champions of Europe in reign The Stadio Olimpico in Rome served as the venue for Euro 2020, and Italy earlier hosted the tournament in 1968 and 1980.
Ten sites were chosen for the UK and Republic of Ireland's bid in April.
