"He's a typical goalscorer”: Jurgen Klopp backing Darwin Nunez to have a successful 2nd season at Anfield

The 24-year-old forward joined Liverpool in 2022
Darwin Nunez may start for Liverpool against Chelsea on the first weekend of the Premier League, according to Jurgen Klopp's hints.
Nunez, 24, featured and netted in the Reds' crushing 4-0 victory over Leicester on Sunday, helping them maintain their perfect preseason record. For the Reds in Singapore, Bobby Clark, Diogo Jota, and Ben Doak also scored goals.
However, Nunez's performance made headlines once more as the Uruguayan continued his outstanding scoring streak, which has seen him score four goals in as many preseason games. In addition to his brace, he added an assist in the Reds' 4-4 draw with Greuther Furth on Monday.
"Sometimes a player needs more time, that's how it is. You can see he is a handful, with his speed, his goal being there, smelling it and finishing it off. In training he has looked very good. Now two more games then Chelsea."
"For Darwin [it's] the same like for all the other strikers as well because I know about the quality they have and they need to do both, like our other players have to do both as well – defend and being influential in all the offensive situations."
"They [attackers] all are a threat, they all are good footballers – the ticket into the team will be the readiness for defence because you never hear about a team being really successful with sloppy defending, it just will not happen.
After a challenging first season at the club, Nunez found his footing in the Liverpool side with his other goal coming in the 4-2 triumph over Karlsruher. And now, Klopp has indicated that the former attacker for Benfica would start against Chelsea on August 13.
Before their Premier League opener against Chelsea in two weeks, Klopp has a wide range of attacking alternatives to pick from.
Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo were benched for the match against Leicester in favour of Jota, Mohamed Salah, and Nunez.
