The Reds are unwilling to sell the Colombian winger

Considering Al-Hilal interest in pursuing Luis Diaz, the Saudi Pro League is causing Liverpool further trouble.

Liverpool have no wish to offload the Colombian international, but Al-Hilal, one of four Saudi Arabian teams supported by the country's Public Investment Fund, is set to make an approach.

The pursuit emerges as Jordan Henderson is the target of a lucrative proposal from Al-Ettifaq, and as Liverpool ponders a £40 million bid from Al-Ittihad for Fabinho, who has been left out of their preseason training session in Germany as an outcome.

The Steven Gerrard-managed Al-Ettifaq have not made a bid for Henderson, and Liverpool would not approve a low-ball offer for their skipper.

Dáz made an impression after coming from Porto in January 2022, but a nasty knee injury kept him out for six months of the previous campaign. Jürgen Klopp's plans for the coming campaign continue to include the 26-year-old in large part.

Although Southampton's Roméo Lavia is being considered by Klopp as a Fabinho successor, Liverpool may decide to go with a defensive midfielder with more experience if the 29-year-old Brazil international leaves.

Since getting support from the PIF, Al-Hilal has spent more than £100 million on players, including Ruben Neves from Wolves, Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea, and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.

Although Liverpool will probably reject their chase of Daz, it adds another distraction for Klopp before the Premier League season.
