Manchester City weighing up move for Raphinha

The Cityzens will sign the Brazilain if Riyad Maharez leaves the club

If Riyad Mahrez leaves this summer, reigning Premier League winner Manchester City might attempt to sign another attacker.

Raphinha, the former winger for Leeds United and current Barcelona star is one of the personalities that have been mentioned for Manchester City to replace Riyad Maharez with.

According to Mailsport, Riyad Mahrez is drawing interest from Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia, who had previously had a proposal for the winger rejected.

Man City did not sell the Algerian despite the £18 million bid, but they are preparing for life without him. Should Mahrez quit, Raphinha could be evaluated because Pep Guardiola likes his profile.

Raphinha's old adviser Deco, who is currently Barcelona's director of football, may be engaged in talks to bring his former player back to England.

According to reports, FC Barcelona must raise money by the conclusion of August so they can officially sign their new recruits.

If they can find a buyer for the Brazilian, releasing Raphinha would be beneficial for their financial situation.

Therefore, Barca might be open to considering proposals for the former Leeds United player and will be anticipating a move from Man City.

Though it is unclear if Mahrez would go, Raphinha is considered to be his top replacement if he decides to move to Saudi Arabia.
