Manchester United 'set investigation deadline date' for Mason Greenwood as new season approaches

The English forward could be set for a loan switch away from the Red Devils
Manchester United will conclude their internal investigation into Mason Greenwood before the start of the 2023–24 Premier League season. The decision will be made on August 14, this date comes 18 months after the player was suspended by the Red Devils.
The 21-year-old forward was charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault in January 2022.
In February this year, the Police said in a statement that the footballer "no longer faces criminal proceedings" and the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the case.
The club gave a follow-up statement after the decision came, stating:
"Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps.
Erik ten Hag ‘frustrated’ over Mason Greenwood as new details emerge
"We will not make any further comment until that process is complete."
According to the Mirror, Richard Arnold, the chief executive of the club has led discussions and contacted football director John Murtough, owners the Glazer family and manager Erik ten Hag for their opinions.
Reports suggest that the manager is 'frustrated' due to the time taken to reach a conclusion.
Manchester United won't stop their pursuit of a new striker. The Premier League club has made a bid for Rasmus Hojlund and is interested in other players as well.
Mason Greenwood made his first senior appearance in 2018. He came from the academy and is rated as one of the biggest generational talents.
Everyone awaits the decision with a possible chance of Greenwood going out on loan. AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has contacted the 21-year-old. He motivated the player and could be considering a move for the forward. Mourinho has managed the forward during his United days.
Opinions at United are said to be divided, with a backlash expected for any decision the club choose to take.
The club are also aware that their global reputation is on the line, which has led to the prolonged process.
