Napoli reject Al-Hilal's €130m bid for Victor Osimhen

The Nigerian striker has attracted plenty of suitors in the summer of 2023

Victor Osimhen was the subject of a €130 million deal from Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League, but Napoli turned it down.

The Nigerian attacker has recently been touted for moves to Chelsea and Manchester United, but Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has priced him out of a Premier League deal.

Having practically ruled out a summer transfer, he claimed that only Paris Saint-Germain would be willing to pay the club's €200 million valuation of Osimhen.

Instead, Chelsea acquired Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, while Manchester United have already reached an agreement to acquire Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

However, after receiving a €130 million offer from Al-Hilal, Napoli will continue to be conscious of Saudi Arabia's pursuit of Osimhen.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli rejected the offer right away in the hopes that Osimhen would agree to a new contract. In fact, despite uncertainty over his future, the 24-year-old is reportedly close to agreeing to a new contract in Naples.

Osimhen led Napoli to their maiden Scudetto victory since 1990 by scoring 31 goals in all competitions for them last season.

Malcom ($60 million), Ruben Neves ($55 million), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic ($40 million), and Kalidou Koulibaly ($23 million) are four of the five most expensive players in league history, and Al-Hilal has become the most successful Saudi Pro League side with respect to high-profile signings this summer.

Their most notable chase was Lionel Messi, who turned down their attempts to sign for MLS team Inter Miami. They also made a bid for Moussa Diaby before the Bayer Leverkusen player decided to join Unai Emery's Aston Villa.

Following PSG's acceptance of their €300 million offer for Kylian Mbappe, the Saudi Pro League club is still confident of acquiring the French sensation.
