The Portuguese left-back could replace Juan Bernat at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares, who could serve as Nuno Mendes's backup.

Although Declan Rice's sale to the Gunners set a British record, discussions between PSG and the club may still be ongoing regarding a left-back signing.

In an effort to make room for Rice and other newcomers to support another title run, Arsenal wants to make a profit on Tavares, who recently finished a stint with Marseille in France.

The French club had looked into making the loan a permanent arrangement, but there was no provision in the deal reached last summer to make that possible, therefore he was returned to his parent club.

Igor Tudor, the manager, once remarked that Tavares was "good enough to play for Barcelona" after Tavares scored six goals and had his most successful season as an offensive ledt-back.

However, there were rumours that he was punished and dropped from the team because he didn't work effectively during training.

If at all feasible, the footballer would like to stay in England. Although there has reportedly been discussion with other Premier League teams.

It is understood that the PSG are the team that has shown the most interest in Tavares. Galatasaray of the Turkish Super Lig are also interested.

Despite the fact that Tavares has two years left on his agreement, a cost of £8 million has been proposed.
