The 24-year-old will be out of contract next summer

President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is sure that Kylian Mbappe cannot leave the club for free, and new Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique expects him to remain this summer.

Despite his claim that he is unwilling to depart this summer, facing interest from Real Madrid, Mbappe is currently in the final year of his agreement with the French champions and has notified the team that he isn't going to renew it.

According to reports, PSG have informed him that failing to sign a contract extension before the end of July will result in his sale. But according to the new manager, he wants to have "the best possible squad" at his command.

"When I signed, we always remain open. A lot of things can happen," Luis Enrique said when questioned regarding Mbappe's future in a press conference. "I will keep it private as it's professional secrecy. I cannot give confidence but we will try to make the best possible squad for PSG."

He said: "Our position is very clear. If Kylian Mbappé wants to stay, we want him to stay. But we can't let one of the best players in the world leave on a free."

"I was really shocked to learn that Mbappé intended to leave for free. Kylian is a fantastic boy, a gentleman... and leaving for free, when we're the biggest French club, it's not at his level. I was shocked and disappointed."

"Kylian Mbappe has to decide next week or in two weeks. No more than this. If he does not want to sign a new contract, the door is open. No one is bigger than the club, no player, not even me. It's very clear",

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG, also reaffirmed the club's position, stating that they have no intention of abandoning Mbappe for nothing the following season and that he needs to sign a new deal if he is interested in remaining.

As they prepare for the upcoming season under their new manager, the Ligue 1 team will patiently wait for the French ace to arrive at a decision.

Given that Mbappe has elected not to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain beyond the end of the 2024 season, it appears that the French club is trying to conclude a transfer this summer since they aren't thinking about the risk of losing the attacker for nothing.
