Five Serie A clubs interested in signing former Manchester United captain Harry Maguire

The Red Devils are demanding £50m for the defender

Harry Maguire's future at United remains questionable, and a host of European clubs are keen on signing him. The centre-back has also attracted interest from top Italian clubs such as AS Roma, Juventus, Napoli, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

However, due to the FIGC's recent decision that British players qualify as EU and do not occupy a non-EU space, the Corriere dello Sport of today discussed players who may transfer from England to Serie A.

Harry Maguire is free to leave Old Trafford, but Manchester United may have trouble striking a deal with a different Premier League team. The former Leicester City player has recently, however, 'been approached' by a number of Serie A teams.

The Red Devils may likely take into account "the usual" loan with option to buy transfer formula that Serie A teams prefer when signing cast-offs from England.

Despite being under contract through 2025, Harry Maguire lost the role of captain and is not anticipated to be a consistent starter in 2019. In 2019, United paid €87m to re-sign him.

Maguire, 30, joined Old Trafford in 2019 after leaving Leicester City, and his time there has been up and down.

Thus far, he has failed to persuade Ten Hag that he deserves to be in the starting lineup, and numerous fans and experts agree that he is no longer necessary.

It has been reported that the players' agents are quite open to a transfer to Italy should Maguire depart Old Trafford, with the pace of the league likely being a better fit for the 30-year-old.

Although he lacks the skills to play the brand of football that Ten Hag wants United to play, his time at the top of the game is far from done.

Despite all that transpired this season, he is still England's first-choice player and intermediate Premier League clubs are going to be eager to sign him.

With only £133 million ($170 million) in player sales since 2013, the club has a historically bad track record when it comes to player sales. This is significantly less than Chelsea, who have made £706 million ($901 million) in player sales over the same time period.
