Spain beat Ukraine to face England in UEFA Euro U-21 2023 final
The Spanish side reach their third final in the last four years
Spain dominated the second semifinal against Ukraine and booked their place in the final of the UEFA Euro U-21 2023. They will face England in the final, who won their semifinal match against Israel.
The Three Lions reach the final for the first time since 2019. Spain are a record five-time champion and have a chance to lead the pack with six titles. England, on the other hand, have won the competition twice, with their last championship coming in a 3-0 win over two legs against Spain in 1984.
England played the first semifinal match of the 2023 tournament. Morgan Gibbs-White missed a penalty in the first half but scored a header towards the end of the first half and the Three Lions led 1-0. A goal each from Cole Palmer and Cameron Archer sealed the deal for the English players.
Spain, on the other hand, conceded a goal early in the match against Ukraine. They then scored back-to-back goals and went into the second half with a 2-1 lead. Three goals in the second half sealed the deal for these young Spanish players.
These two teams will play the final match of the tournament on 8 July. Both teams have talented players who are featuring for some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
The talent is huge on both sides. Lee Carsley's side has a few players with Premier League experience, while Senti Denia's side has a few with LaLiga experience. This will be the most exciting game of the tournament. Two strong teams go head-to-head in the final.
The Spanish team have lost three finals, with the latest loss coming in 2017. England, on the other hand, only lost a final in 2009. Both teams will be ready for the grand finale.
