The former Aston Villa manager will resume his duties for the first time since leaving the Premier League outfit in October. He spent three years at Scottish side Rangers. The Englishman led them to a Scottish Premiership title. Gerrard's struggled a bit during his spell at Villa.

Steven Gerrard was also linked with the vacant manager's post at Sheffield Wednesday. However, it looks like the 43-year-old manager is heading to Saudi Arabia. His new team will be playing against some of the players against whom Gerrard has played.

Al Ettifaq are not funded by the Public Investment Fund. They finished seventh in the Saudi Pro League and 35 points behind the eventual champions, Al-Ittihad. Steven Gerrard will have a huge task in hand as his new side will be facing some of the biggest players in the world.
