Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich identify Aurelien Tchouameni as ideal midfield target

According to SPORT1, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are interested in Real Madrid's midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

Thomas Tuchel is looking for a midfielder in the transfer market. The German club missed out on Declan Rice, who joined Arsenal from West Ham United.

As per the report, Tchouameni is concerned with the amount of playing time he’ll receive at Real Madrid this season, particularly with the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024. A potential move to Bundesliga and regular playing time could tempt the youngster to join Bayern Munich. 

The 23-year-old midfielder has already contemplated a move to Bayern and has asked an unnamed French national team colleague about the club. 

With the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modrić, and now Jude Bellingham, Tchouaméni is unlikely to get a starting 11 role. Last season, head coach Carlo Ancelotti opted for more experienced players and the Frenchman was not a regular starter at the club.

Goretzka's departure will open doors for a new player in the midfield and Tchouameni could take this role. He was signed by the Spanish club last season from AS Monaco for €80 million, a transfer that could rise to €100 million due to additional fees.

Real Madrid will put a heavy price tag in case they plan to sell the Frenchman. This would even fund them to bring some new faces to the team.

Tuchel previously wanted the player during his time at Chelsea. Tchouameni could plan to join the Bundesliga champions in order to ensure he plays in the Euros next season.

Last season the 23-year-old appeared in 50 games in all competitions for Real Madrid and registered four assists.
