The Englishman spoke for the first time since switching sides in a video.

Mount said in the video, "I have made the decision to leave Chelsea." He added that the club supporters deserve more than a written statement.

The player was grateful for the support that he has gotten from these spectators over the last 18 years. Mount joined the Blues when he was six-year-old and since then he has fought hard to get into the first team.

The midfielder added, "I know some of you won't be happy with my decision, but it's what's right for me at this moment in my career."

Mount also remembered the honours that he won with the Blues, including the 'unforgettable night' when they won the Champions League.

The player also thanked the academy, especially Jim and Neal, who were influential in grooming the player from a young age.

Towards the end, Mount thanked his managers, backroom staff, the teammates who turned into brothers, his family and the fans.
