Gianluigi Buffon, the legendary Italian goalkeeper has been offered a massive deal by a Saudi Pro League club.

The 45-year-old, who made his professional debut almost three decades ago, currently serves as Serie B's captain for his childhood team, Parma.

Last year, a hamstring injury limited his game time, but upon his comeback, the former Juventus star recaptured the No. 1 position, playing 17 games as Parma advanced to the Serie B play-offs.

There are still twelve months left on Gianluigi Buffon's contract at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, but rumours claim the great goalkeeper may make one more move before his career is through.

According to a rumour from the Italian magazine Corriere dello Sport, Gianluigi Buffon has been offered a huge amount of money to become the newest celebrity to sign with the developing Saudi Pro League this summer.

The custodian reportedly received a £25 million annual contract to play for an unidentified team in the Gulf state.

Gianluigi Buffon is rumoured to be considering his options as he enters his 28th campaign as a senior player.

First, he could retire completely from the sport, giving up his position as the most-capped player for Italy and one of the greatest goalkeepers in history.

Furthermore, by staying at Parma until the end of his contract, he would likely surpass Andrea Pierobon as the oldest custodian in Italian sports history.

After his brief stint at PSG in 2018–19, he might finally become the most notable player to relocate to Saudi Arabia, featuring domestic football for only the second time in his brilliant career outside of his own nation.

If Buffon were to sign with the fledgling league, he would compete with Sebastian Giovinco, an old rival at Juventus who recorded 57 games for Al-Hilal between 2019 and 2021, as the only other Italian to play in the Saudi Premier League.
