Durand Cup 2023: Hyderabad FC aim to end campaign on positive note against Tribhuvan Army

Hyderabad FC are yet to win a game in this Durand Cup edition.
With only one quarter-finalist left to be identified (the topper of Group F), the final day of the group matches of the 132nd IndianOil Durand Cup, will see Hyderabad FC (HFC) take on Nepal’s Tribhuvan Army FC (TAFC) in Guwahati’s Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium and champions Bengaluru FC (BFC) play their last game of this year’s campaign against Gokulam Kerala FC (GKFC) at Kolkata’s Kishore Bharati Krirangan (KBK). Both these matches on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, will be majorly a battle of pride.
The first is the final game of Group E and has an afternoon 3.00pm Indian Standard Time (IST) kick-off, while the second, the last Group C game begins at 6.00pm IST.
Hyderabad and Tribhuvan Army FC will look to end with a win
Both Hyderabad FC and Tribhuvan Army FC have so far drawn one game and lost the other and therefore will be desperate to end their 132nd IndianOil Durand Cup campaign with a win.
Both teams have had their moments in the tournament, like when TAFC led against Delhi FC or when the Nizams were ahead against Chennaiyin, however as things stand Chennaiyin will be the only team to go through from the group.
Hyderabad FC’s previous result
Chennaiyin FC got the better of Hyderabad FC by beating them 3-1 in the southern derby fixture of Group E which was played here at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium. Chennaiyin has taken the top spot in the Group with the victory. Jordan Murray, Connor Shields and an own goal from Alex Saji completed the score line for Chennaiyin while Chingelsana Singh scored for Hyderabad via a penalty.
