In a heartwarming moment of celebration, Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri and his wife Sonam Bhattacharya have welcomed a new addition to their family – a bouncing baby boy. The couple’s joy knows no bounds as they embark on this new journey of parenthood.

According to Bengali news outlet, ABP , Sonam Bhattacharya gave birth to a baby boy on 30th August  in a hospital at Bengaluru. It is reported that both the newborn and the mother are in good health.

Congratulations and good wishes pour in for the ‘Captain- Fantastic” and his wife on this joyous occasion. It was earlier reported that the due date of his wife was expected in Mid September and Sunil Chhetri understandably  wished to remain absent from  India’s Kings Cup tie in Thailand .

As news of the baby boy’s arrival spreads, fans and well-wishers are eager to catch a glimpse of the newest member of the Chhetri-Bhattacharya family. As the family takes time to relish these precious moments, fans around the country eagerly await updates and perhaps a glimpse of the little one.

The head coach of the Indian Football team Igor Stimac accepted his captain’s request and left him out of the National Team squad for their upcoming assignments in the King’s Cup. India is all set to play Asian heavyweights Iraq in the first knockout game  on 7th September at Chiang Mai Stadium in Thailand. The loser will play the third place playoff game while the winner gets to play in the final based on the second game between Lebanon and host Thailand.
