Turin has not seen a champions parade in the last 3 years

In a tough 2022-23 season for Juventus, they ended up in seventh place in Serie A. They had some points taken away but then those points were given back. The team seemed like they might finish in the top four. But they finally lost ten points because of a financial case. Further, they are also not allowed to play in UEFA competitions next season, including the Europa Conference League.

Juventus want to forget about the past and start the new season strongly. The Serie A starts in just a few days, and Massimiliano Allegri will be grasping at straws to lay out the strongest XI. In an ideal formation of 3-4-3, here is a look at the potential lineup.

Wojciech Szczesny- Goalkeeper

According to advanced stats, Szczesny had the second-best save percentage in Serie A in the last season. Stopping 75.3% of the shots. He also kept the third-most clean sheets, managing 14 in total. It is remarkable for a keeper to perform on such a high considering all the changes in the team around him. From the changing game styles, and the defenders, to how some players performed. Many might have expected him to crumble. Without a doubt, Szczesny was one of the best players for Juve this season. Allegri, will not be forcing any case against his position in the side this time around.

Federico Gatti- Centre Back

Juventini can expect a lot more appearances and performances from their own beast of a centre-back- Gatti. For most of the beginning of the last season, the 24-year-old mostly watched from the sidelines. He occasionally played as a substitute or started against weaker teams. But he started to show more of his strengthening performances in the later stages of the last season. As Alex Sandro's performance as a centre-back decreased, Gatti's performance improved. Without putting much pressure on the youngster, he has got that aura around him. An aura that was once seen in Chiellini.

Gleison Bremer- Centre Back

If Juventus goes with the 3-4-3 formation, which might not be certain due to Allegri's unpredictability, defenders- Danilo, Bremer, and Sandro will be prominently seen in the back three. Alternatively, it could be Federico Gatti, Bremer, and Danilo. We're familiar with Danilo's consistent performance, but Bremer is the crucial factor. While he had some ups and downs last year adjusting to a new team, his attributes—speed, strength, and aerial ability—are impressive. To succeed, Juventus needs Bremer to perform consistently. Bremer shoulders a significant responsibility this year, but he seems prepared for it.

Danilo- Centre Back

Danilo is the new captain of Juventus for the upcoming season. Making him the first non-Italian to hold the position in about 60 years. He was an obvious choice due to his leadership in the locker room and consistent performance since joining Juve. He served as vice-captain last season and is praised by the club for his loyalty. Danilo's strong form and existing leadership make him well-suited for the role, whether or not he wears the captain's armband.

Filip Kostic- Left Midfielder

During his debut season with Juventus, Kostic showcased his proficiency in delivering precise crosses. Which proved to be a valuable asset for a significant part of their 2022-23 campaign. He consistently played in the position of left wingback after Max Allegri's transition to the 3-5-2 formation. Despite the demanding workload, Kostic's performance stood out, accumulating three goals and contributing with eight assists in 37 league matches, out of which he started 33 times. No doubt, Kostic makes it to the predicted lineup with such a show of faith by the manager for him.

Adrien Rabiot- Left Centre Midfielder

Adrien Rabiot used to frequently undermine his good performances with major mistakes. However, in the last year, he showed more consistent gameplay, possibly due to his expiring contract. In an attempt to win the fans' hearts as well as to show his worth. Which he did! He improved his ability to regain possession, became harder to dispossess, and displayed better decision-making in passing.

Notably, he even developed a knack for scoring crucial goals, addressing Juventus' pressing need for goal-scorers. In the 2022-2023 Serie A season, in 32 matches, he scored 8 goals and contributed 4 assists. If he maintains this form, his positive impact on the team will be substantial. Yet, concerns arise if he succumbs to injuries or reverts to his previous error-prone style.

Manuel Locatelli- Right Centre Midfielder

Manuel Locatelli is finally showing the potential that fans had been hoping for. Last season, when Juventus was struggling in Serie A, their coach Massimiliano Allegri tried using Locatelli as a key player, but it didn't work well. However, Locatelli's progress became clear, especially after a strong game against Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals. After that, he continued to improve and his performances started resembling his idol Pirlo's style of play. Now, as the new season begins, Locatelli has gained the support of fans and the confidence of Allegri to become a prominent midfielder for the team.

Timothy Weah- Right Midfielder

Juventus' first signing this summer was Timothy Weah from Lille in Ligue 1. Notably, he is the son of the legendary AC Milan striker George Weah, who was the first African player to win the Ballon d'Or. 23-year-old, Weah steps into the shoes of Juan Cuadrado, a veteran who bid farewell to Juventus to join Inter Milan. The American has expressed his enthusiasm about joining Serie A. His versatility suggests he will likely occupy the wingback or right midfielder position. Juventus seems to have strategically secured Weah as a direct replacement for Cuadrado, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in his career.

Federico Chiesa- Right Winger

When Chiesa is fit and active on the field, he adds a whole new level of energy and excitement to Juventus. His passionate gestures and quick movements make the team play more intensely. Chiesa, just like Danilo, brings a special and important quality to the team. He's really good at passing the ball in a creative way, dribbling past opponents with the ball, and making smart runs that create space for his teammates. However, his fitness has been a challenge, as he only played in 21 games and scored 2 goals while assisting in 5 others.

Dusan Vlahovic- Striker

While not particularly fast overall, Vlahović is quick in short bursts. He's strong, which helps him control the ball in the penalty area and fend off defenders who often end up fouling him to get the ball. In the previous season, he played 42 matches for Juventus and scored 14 goals, also making 3 assists. Both Allegri and the Juventus team anticipate him being their main goal scorer in the upcoming season too.

Moise Kean- Left Winger

In the upcoming 2023-24 Serie A season, Kean's exceptional skills make him a valuable fit in Allegri's Juventus lineup, particularly as a left winger. His speed, determination, and robust physique allow him to excel in attacking plays. Additionally, Kean's technical prowess and accurate shot provide a reliable scoring threat from the left side of the field. This positioning enables him to both create goal-scoring opportunities and capitalize on them himself.
