Both English giants have been interested in the midfielder since last season

Bayern Munich outcast Ryan Gravenberch has attracted considerable interest from both Premier League rivals, Manchester United and Liverpool.

The North-West giants have registered their interest in the holding midfielder since last season. And with his departure from Bayern likely in this window, both managers Erik Ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp are said to be on red alert and on the lookout to snag the midfielder.

Strengthening their midfield has been on the agenda of both of these Premier League giants. Manchester United went on to sign Mason Mount, who has been their marquee signing this season. Liverpool have signed Dominik Szoboszlai and Allison Mac Allister in this transfer window.

Their signings are fulfilling in quality; however, the lower quantity of signings is a concerning factor. The Reds especially need to strengthen their midfield after they missed out on signing Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo despite pursuing them strongly throughout their transactions.

The 21-year-old’s breakthrough came at Ajax, after which he moved to Bayern Munich in 2022; since then, he has made 24 appearances for the Bundesliga champions. When Liverpool and Manchester United inquired about his availability, Thomas Tuchel convinced him to stay.

However, the lack of playtime at the Allianz Arena and the promise of more minutes elsewhere have changed his mind about staying at Bayern.

As far as financials are concerned, Bayern are said to be valuing him at €22 million. But a more likely compromise would be for Gravenberch to be sent out on loan for the season.

The Red Devils are also trying to sign Sofyan Amrabat but need to raise some money to bring him to Old Trafford. The Merseyside club sold two first-team midfielders and needs someone to replace them.
