Anthony Martial of Manchester United is the newest Premier League player being pursued by the wealthy Saudi Pro League.

Erik ten Hag, the manager at Old Trafford, is rumoured to be willing to let the injured player depart for the appropriate deal. Although West Ham is keeping an eye on Martial's status, it's unlikely that they would be able to match any cost or wage offered by the Middle East.

Al-Hilal, who recently acquired Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, have talked about adding Martial in the event that their £46 million deal for Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic falls through.

If that happens the Saudi Pro League has other clubs interested in signing France international Anthony Martial, who joined Manchester United from Monaco eight years ago for the then-record-breaking sum of £36 million. This information has been relayed to Martial's advisors.

But despite the support of the Old Trafford faithful for his lazy style of play, Martial's profession has not yet truly taken off there.

That is why United would be willing to talk about his departure, especially given that it is anticipated that the Saudis will pay a hefty transfer price.

The Red Devils haven't always been eager to let Martial go since the Frenchman has a devoted supporter at the top of the organisation.

Joel Glazer, one of United's co-owners, is rumoured to be a major Martial fan and has frequently compared him to legendary Brazilian player Pele in the past.

While Jose Mourinho was in charge at Old Trafford, it is thought that the American billionaire intervened and stopped the 'Special One' from selling Anthony Martial.

Ivan Rakitic, a midfielder for then-Barcelona, was a player United were interested in at the time, and selling Martial was seen as the best way to get the money needed.

That is, until Glazer stepped in and forced the France international to remain put, costing United the opportunity to sign Rakitic.
