Ratings: Sunil Chhetri turns saviour as India beat Bangladesh in Asian Games

India kept their hopes alive in the Asian Games, courtesy this win.
India defeated Bangladesh in their second Asian Games encounter and it was none other than skipper Sunil Chhetri who rose to the occasion to win it for his side. It was even game throughout, with both sides creating chances, but at the end a spot kick from Chhetri saved India and kept their hopes alive in the competition.

Dheeraj Singh: 6.0
Saved a magnificent shot in the 77th minute. He didn’t have much to do in the first half. His defence blocked a lot of shots for him. He did receive a tamed shot in the first half, which he very well kept at bay.
Lalchungnunga: 7.0
The East Bengal defender displayed consistent solidity throughout the game. At the 56th minute, he effectively intercepted an excellent pass from the Bangladeshi winger, capitalising on a moment when Sandesh Jhingan accidentally slipped.
Chinglensana Konsham: 6.0
Sana formed a successful partnership within the three-man backline. While he did lose a couple of balls, he was effective in safeguarding his side of the pitch.
Sandesh Jhingan: 8.0
The guardian of the Indian defence against Bangladesh. He displayed exceptional defending and leadership skills throughout the match. Jhingan also managed to provide some great balls to the frontline.
Ayush Dev Chhetri: 6.0
The Indian midfielder combined frequently with Abdul Rabeeh, contributing significantly with the ball and also crafting some exceptional chances for India.
Amarjit Singh: 6.0
He was subbed off in the 57th Minute. Singh remained rather quiet in the first half but managed to combine effectively on both flanks.
Rahul KP: 8.0
The Indian talisman had some wonderful opportunities throughout the match, especially in the first half. His runs posed a constant threat to Bangladesh, but unfortunately, they didn't lead to any successful outcomes.
Sunil Chhetri: 7.0
The Indian skipper was active for the whole 90 minutes. Scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 85th minute.
Bryce Miranda: 9.0
The most effective and brightest player for India during the tenure of the match. Won a penalty in the dying stages, which led to the Indian goal.
Abdul Rabeeh: 8.0
Rabeeh had an outstanding performance. He utilised his flank brilliantly and received numerous passes that presented scoring opportunities, but unfortunately, he couldn't convert them into goals.
Rohit Danu: 6.0
Had some amazing moments in the game. But was relatively quiet. Subbed off in the 54th minute.

Gurkirat Singh: 6.0
Combined well with Bryce Miranda. Controlled the tempo of the game from the 54th minute.
Samuel James: 6.0
Partnered well in the middle of the park. His presence proved vital as the Indian midfield needed a pair of fresh legs. A free-kick from him also hit the woodwork.
Narender Gahlot: 8.0
The standout moment of his match was his first touch, which was an exceptional tackle that prevented a potential 1v1 situation for the Indian goalkeeper. He performed exceptionally well during the time he was on the field.
Rahim Ali: 5.0
Didn’t have much to do. He was substituted in place of Bryce Miranda.
Vincy Barretto: 6.0
He made a crucial goal-saving tackle in the dying moments of the match. Besides that, there's nothing specific to highlight about his performance in the game.

Mitul Marma: 8.0
Hardly called into action despite India controlling the majority of the possession. Reliable when called upon and made a very impressive triple save just before the end of the first half.
Rahmat Mia: 6.0
Solid in defence, calm up against a tough opponent in Bryce Miranda. Held his ground when called upon and steady in possession of the ball. Silly error late on to give away a penalty.
Hasan Murad: 8.0
Apart from an embarrassing attempt to get Lalchungnunga sent off, held his own and constantly got in between the Indian attack and the Bangladeshi goal.
Shakil Hossain: 8.0
Stood tall against the Indian attack. Had to be switched on constantly as India mounted pressure throughout.
Isa Faysal: 8.0
Positionally disciplined, did not venture forward needlessly.
Mojibur Rahman Jony: 7.0
Reliable in midfield, had an opportunity to score but had his attempt saved by Dheeraj.
Mohammad Ridoy: 6.0
Good both in and especially out of possession.
Jabed Ahmed: 6.5
Got an early yellow card but was competitive in midfield even after the booking.
Mohammed Robiul Hasan: 7.5
Was on set-pieces for Bangladesh and that provided rare opportunities for Bangladesh to threaten.
Mohammed Fahim: 7.0
Provided Bangladesh with their first shot on target and was the only player who looked like threatening the Indian defence.
Sumon Reza: 5.5
Struggled to have an impact.
