Sesa FA and Vintage 73 play out a 0-0 draw

Sesa Football Academy (SFA) and Vintage 73 SC played out a goalless draw in the GFA Vedanta Women’s League at Sirsaim ground, on Tuesday.

The first half of the match was a rollercoaster of emotions as the newly formed Sesa FA took on the seasoned Vintage 73 SC. Right from the kickoff, Sesa FA displayed their potential, creating numerous scoring opportunities, but struggled to find the elusive breakthrough. Vintage 73 SC, on the other hand, came agonizingly close with a well-taken shot that narrowly missed the target.

The battle in midfield was intense, with Priya Dhatkar of Sesa FA showcasing her blistering speed but being expertly tackled by Vintage's Chetna Tirodkar. Vailanka's long-range attempt for Sesa FA sailed wide, while Marlat Cardozo's dazzling skills gave fans a glimmer of hope. However, Vintage 73 SC missed a significant opportunity inside the 18-yard box.

The second half witnessed a resurgence from Vintage 73 SC, who took control of the game with lightning-fast counter-attacks. Sesa's goalkeeper, Ashika Gadekar, stood tall, denying Vintage's attempts to break the deadlock.

The match's intensity reached its peak, with both teams engaging in a head-to-head battle. Vintage's Stessi unleashed a curving free-kick that struck the woodwork, while Keenda of SFA missed a golden opportunity, sending her shot soaring over the crossbar.

Despite the frenetic pace of the game, neither team could find the back of the net. Pushpa Parab of Vintage 73 SC missed multiple open chances, leaving Vintage's supporters in disbelief. Alicia's high foot resulted in a foul for Sesa, but Vintage's Arpita Pednekar continued to shine with a well-timed through ball, only to be denied by the exceptional save of Ashika Gadekar.
