Odisha FC defender Mourtada Fall mentioned how the ISL has improved throughout the years.

Sergio Lobera's Odisha FC are scheduled to go head-to-head against Mumbai City FC in their upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) game at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, on September 28.

Both teams have commenced their campaign with a victory. Odisha FC secured a 2-0 win against Chennaiyin FC, while Mumbai City FC triumphed over NorthEast United FC with a 2-1 scoreline.

Both teams are determined to maintain their winning streak in their upcoming match. In the pre-match press conference, Odisha FC's head coach Sergio Lobera and player Mourtada Fall shared valuable insights on the team's preparations for their forthcoming home game.

Sergio Lobera facing his former team

Sergio Lobera appeared visibly intrigued at the prospect of facing his former team, as he said, “We are preparing to face a highly skilled and formidable opponent. The upcoming match holds significant importance as it will take place in our home stadium, in the presence of our passionate supporters. Personally, I hold this game in high regard due to my past involvement with Mumbai City. Working with the team was an extraordinary experience that ranks among the highlights of my professional career.”

Team’s mindset after first win

The Odisha FC players will undoubtedly bring their utmost determination when they confront Mumbai City FC at their home stadium. When questioned about this, Mourtuda Fall said, “The first game against CFC was a difficult game for us. Coming back from a 4-0 defeat and winning with a commanding gesture is never easy. But we showed professionalism and good character, which helped us to win the match.”

Experience of playing at the Kalinga Stadium

Sergio Lobera shared his experience of witnessing two games with Odisha FC at the Kalinga Stadium.

He said, “It is truly remarkable to witness the enthusiastic presence of our loyal fans in the stadium, rallying their support during our recent game. The experience of such unwavering support is truly invaluable to us, as it underscores the profound sense of unity and camaraderie within our team. We are profoundly grateful for our devoted fan base and we strive to reciprocate their unwavering dedication with the utmost dedication and effort on the field.”

Expectation from the next game

The fans might get to see a fierce fight amongst both the teams tomorrow. The mentor also looked confident of facing Mumbai City FC. “In their current style of play, they are displaying a significant emphasis on offensive tactics. However, we remain resolute and steadfast. In the previous match, we emerged victorious with a 2-0 scoreline. Nonetheless, there are numerous areas that require substantial improvement," stated Sergio Lobera.

Mourtauda Fall completing 100 games in ISL

It’s a remarkable achievement for a foreign player to complete 100 games on Indian soil. Mourtada shared his happiness by saying, “It is really a good achievement for me. As per my experience over here, the league has grown year by year. Even the effect of it can be seen the Indian national team.”
