PSG will play against Lyon in Ligue 1

Randal Kolo Muani is PSG’s most expensive signing of the recently concluded transfer window.

Randal Kolo Muani’s transfer saga was one of the most dramatic stories of the recently concluded European transfer window.

The French forward had attracted interest from many European solid clubs including the likes of Chelsea. However, PSG were strong contenders throughout the transfer window and were keen on bringing him to Paris as the capital club’s fans have vouched for more French names in the side.

PSG were keen on fielding a front three of Mbappe, Dembele and Kolo Muani. He had made his intentions to leave Eintracht Frankfurt very clear at the start of the window, he also indicated a desire to join PSG. However, as it revealed that negotiations between the two clubs were breaking down, Kolo Muani resorted to a strike to force a move outside of Germany.

Eventually, both the teams restarted talks and a deal was worked out in which the French club paid Frankfurt a transfer fee of €90m. Making sure the transfer happened just in the dying embers of the transfer window, Kolo Muani to PSG was the highlight transfer on deadline day.

However, Kolo Muani will not be featuring for PSG anytime soon as he is currently nursing an ankle injury he arrived with.

In a medical report, the club announced that the former FC Nantes forward is recovering from a sprained ankle and will therefore remain in treatment for the next few days. Therefore, the €90m signing won’t feature for his new club until after the international break.

The French champions also announced that Nuno Mendes was nearing his return, Lee Kang-in is training individually as he works his way back from fitness, whilst Presnel Kimpembé remains sidelined.
