Algeria will next play Senegal in a friendly game

Amine Gouiri (23) and Yasser Larouci (22) have both decided to represent Algeria (Les Fennecs) at the international level, according to Algeria manager Djamel Belmadi, who made the announcement on RMC Sport's l'After Foot programme.

Both players frequently competed for France at the young level. Gouiri has played for Les Bleuts since the U16 level all the way up to the U21 level. He made his U21 team debut in 2019, and since then, he has made 31 appearances and scored 12 goals.

Larouci, on the other hand, has competed for France at the U19 and U21 levels. In March 2022, the Sheffield United defender made his lone and only appearance for the U21 team.

Gouiri's switch of international allegiance, according to Algeria coach Belmadi in an interview with l'After Foot, was: “a secret to no one,” adding that it is already official. He said that Lamouci’s change of international allegiance is “on the right path” and that he should also be called up for the next international break."

They both may be picked up to the team for the matches against Mozambique on November 20 and Somalia on November 13. The two players won't play for Les Bleus at the senior level despite being a part of France's squad at the European U21 tournaments this summer.

from hammering on the Blues' door, when their offensive market is quite competitive. He was raised in Bourgouin-Jallieu by parents from Algeria, and in January he spoke with RTL regarding his ties to the nation:

"I am very proud of my Algerian origins. My father was born there. I still have family there. It is a wealth for me to have these origins."

Given that Larouci was born in El Oued, the connection is particularly clear for him. He recently joined the Bleuets after six appearances with the Espoirs.

Gouiri and Larouci were both chosen by Sylvain Ripoll a couple of weeks ago to spearhead Euro aspirations. They are scheduled to join the group of Franco-Algerian players that Belmadi has chosen, which already includes Houssem Aouar, a former Lyon player.
