Arsenal likely to pay upto £80m for Brentford's Ivan Toney

Ivan Toney has confirmed he wants to leave Brentford in January
Prior to the January transfer window, The Times reports that the Gunners are weighing their options and are intrigued by negotiations that include Ivan Toney.
The 27-year-old's contract expires at the end of the upcoming season, and he has switched agents in preparation for leaving the Gtech Community Stadium.
According to another rumour, Santiago Gimenez, a 22-year-old Mexican who has bagged 33 goals for Feyenoord in every competition since the beginning of the current campaign, has been observed by Arsenal. To ensure that they stay below Financial Fair Play rules, the Gunners would allegedly have to sell players by the last day of June if they signed either Toney or Gimenez in January.
Players like Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson are among the likely available for sale commodities.
Although the England international has been banned from football until January 16 of the next year due to his admission of breaking FA betting rules, this is not expected to stop Arsenal and Chelsea from considering a mid-season transfer.
The England international, whose contract expires at the conclusion of the upcoming season and who is currently suspended from football until January 16 after breaking FA betting regulations, is also being watched by Chelsea.
Toney's head has been highly valued by Brentford, who still don't want to lose the striker. He finished only below Harry Kane and Erling Haaland with 20 league goals last season.
If Arsenal decides to spend a lot of money on Toney, they will have to sell players before the end of June in order to abide by FFP rules. To raise money, the likes of Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, and Emile Smith Rowe might all be put up for sale.
The next task for Arsenal is a Wednesday Carabao Cup match against Toney's employers, Brentford.
