Declan Rice scored his first goal for the Gunners

Two late goals for Arsenal handed them a 3-1 win over Manchester United in the English Premier League 2023-24 season.

Declan Rice scored his first goal for Arsenal and Gabriel Jesus sealed the thrilling encounter with his first-ever goal against the Red Devils.

The home team started in their regular 4-3-3 formation. Thomas Partey was injured and Gabriel Magalhaes came into the starting 11. Eddie Nketiah led the line for Arteta's team.

Manchester United also played in the same formation. Anthony Martial led the line for his side and was supported by Marcus Rashford and Antony.

Manchester United took the lead against the run of play in the first half. Christian Eriksen won the ball in the midfield for the Red Devils and he found Marcus Rashford. The Englishman scored his sixth career goal against Arsenal to give his side the lead.

The Gunners didn't stay behind for long as captain Martin Odegaard scored his second goal of the season to level the score for his side. The score was 1-1 at the end of the first half.

Both teams looked very settled at the start of the second half. Mikel Arteta's men were charging at Ten Hag's side but they looked more settled this time. Arsenal were awarded a penalty when Aaron Wan-Bissaka tripped Kai Havertz. The VAR came to the rescue of the Red Devils as the referee saw minimum contact and overturned his decision.

Manchester United's new no. 11 Rasmus Hojlund was introduced for the first time. He made his debut for the Red Devils.

It looked like Alejandro Garnacho had won the game for Manchester United in the dying minutes of the match. He scored the goal but was judged offside by VAR.

Declan Rice scored his first goal in injury time from a corner. Gabriel Jesus scored another to win three points before the international break.

Erik ten Hag's men have lost both their away fixtures this season. They are 11th in the league table. Arsenal go into the international break in fifth place.
