Romelu Lukaku’s permanent transfer from Chelsea is reportedly desired by AS Roma, who may make Tammy Abraham in an exchange deal. A trade between the Blues and I Giallorossi may be on the horizon, claims Calciomercatoweb.

Lukaku has no prospects at Stamford Bridge and joined Jose Mourinho’s Serie A team on a loan for the duration of the season in the summer. Lukaku has scored three goals in four appearances across tournaments since moving to the Stadio Olimpico.

Prior to moving, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino felt the Belgian international was superfluous to requirements.

Roma appears to have already been persuaded by the 30-year-old to attempt to negotiate a permanent contract. Abraham, an English striker with a history at Stamford Bridge, is being considered as part of a trade.

At Chelsea, Abraham advanced through the youth systems prior to making his debut in 2016. In 82 games for the West Londoners in various competitions, he scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists.

The Premier League heavyweights sold the England international to Roma in 2021 for £34 million. He has scored 36 goals and provided 12 assists in 107 games for the Serie A team. With a torn cruciate ligament, the star player is presently out and won’t be able to play again until January.

fortunately, Pochettino’s team has struggled to score goals thus far this season as summer signing Nicolas Jackson has struggled in front of goal. Only one goal has been scored by the Colombian in seven outings across all competitions.

Chelsea has had a terrible start to the year, losing three of their first six league games and currently occupying the 14th spot in the Premier League standings. Many people thought Pochettino’s hiring in the summer was wise considering his previous success with Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain.
