Some of the biggest names in football have showcased their talent in the Bundesliga

Goals are the main element of football and of course in winning matches. Tackles, skills, and passes are amazing to watch but it all boils down to scoring goals in the end. The main deciding factor in matches.

The Bundesliga is the top-flight German league and is a part of the top five leagues in Europe and has a very rich history. The Bundesliga started way back in 1972 and has had a plethora of goals since then. Many of these goals are match-winning goals, relegation-saving goals, solo goals or just pure technically sound goals. Keeping this in mind, today we will take a look at the top 10 best goals scored in the history of the Bundesliga.

10. Jamal Musiala vs FC Koln ( 16th June, 2023)

It is a rare occurrence to see Bayern Munich trailing in the title race. However, in the 2022-23 season, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both were toe to toe in the title race. By the last matchday, Borussia Dortmund were set to win the Bundesliga title with a win or a draw.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, would have won it outright only if they won the match against FC Koln. Kingsley Coman scored the first goal against Koln however Bayern conceded a late goal in the last ten minutes. Jamal Musiala scored the most crucial goal of his life in the 89th minute to secure and snatch the Bundesliga title from Dortmund.

9. Timo Werner vs FC Augsburg (16th April, 2023)

The German suffered a streak of poor performances and underperforming at Chelsea. He was at his absolute best when at RB Leipzig. Timo proved himself again when he rejoined RB Leipzig.

In the 2022-23 season, Timo scored 16 goals assisting six times in 40 appearances across all competitions. Timo Werner showed absolute class when he scored a brace against FC Augsburg. The German centre-forward took a touch to set himself up and scored a staggering volley.

8. Onisiwo vs Borussia Dortmund (16th June , 2023)

Jamal Musiala scored the winning goal against Koln to secure the Bundesliga title. But that was not the only deciding factor for Bayern Munich to win the title. On the same day, Mainz crushed Borussia Dortmund's title hopes by holding them to a draw. Mainz scored the first two goals and it was Karim Onisiwo's goal in the end which kept the score to a deadlock. Although the goal was not technically sound or had any significance for Mainz, it played a huge role in deciding who won the Bundesliga title.

7. Lothar Matthaus vs Bayer Leverkusen ( 21st November,1993)

Scoring volleys is arguably the most difficult goal to score in football. It takes everything to score a volley, from body positioning to connecting the shot swiftly and many more factors. Scoring a direct volley or a full volley is even more difficult.

Lothar Matthaus scored his best-ever goal in a Bayern Munich jersey against Leverkusen. The score was 1-1 until a corner kick. The ball was passed directly from the corner flag to Matthaus from where he scored an unstoppable volley to break the deadlock. Eventually, Bayern Munich won the match 4-2 against Leverkusen.

6. Grafite vs Bayern Munich (15th April, 2009)

Edinaldo Batista famously known as Grafite scored the best goal of his career against Bayern Munich. The Bavarians were sitting second in the table whilst Ralf Rangnick's Hoffenheim led the table at the initial start of the 2008-09 season. Wolfsburg thrashed Bayern Munich 5-1 to win the Bundesliga title on the last matchday. Grafite scored 11 goals in that season and formed a deadly attacking duo with Edin Dzeko.

Grafite had already scored a goal against Bayern Munich in that match to extend the lead by two goals. However, his second goal was absolutely astonishing as he humiliated Bayern's entire backline. Grafite turned the defenders inside out and made his way from 35 yards out to the penalty box with ease. However when the keeper rushed out, the Brazilian showed his flair and scored a backheel goal out of nowhere.

5. Diego vs Alemmania Aachen (11th August , 2007)

The Bundesliga goal of the season in 2007. Diego, a Brazilian midfielder scored a goal from his own half against Alemania Aachen. The goal was scored from 60 metres out. Alemmania's goalkeeper was present in a corner kick in the dying minutes of the game. Unfortunately for him, the ball trailed away from his side and Diego seized the opportunity. The Brazilian combined power and floated the ball directly into the opponent's goal.

4. Jay-Jay Okocha vs Karlsruher SC (31st August, 1994)

Augustine Azuka Okocha famously known as Jay-Jay Okocha. He is a former Nigerian professional and is a legend of the game. Okocha did not garner many goals and assists during his stellar career but was overall a very skilful player. Jay-Jay Okocha scored a staggering solo goal against Karlsruher SC. He dribbled and faked a shot against the goalkeeper not once, twice, thrice but four times.

3. Jurgen Wegmann vs FC Nurnberg (1988)

The " Cobra " first started playing at Borussia Dortmund and then he moved to Schalke FC and then finally to Bayern Munich. Wegmann scored from a cross into the box and it was not just a header or a volley. Jurgen Wegmann managed to score an outrageous bicycle kick directly from the cross. This was his best-ever career goal as Bayern Munich defeated FC Nurnberg.

2. Pierre Littbarski vs Werder Bremen (1985)

FC Koln player Pierre Littbarski scored a solo goal despite losing possession of the ball once. He never gave up and eventually managed to outdo 2-3 defenders at one and get the second shot in. Pierre at first managed to dribble past two defenders and get a shot against the Werder Bremen goalkeeper but it was saved. Then he managed to get up again and regain possession of the ball and scored a goal. His goal eventually won the Bundesliga goal of the season.

1. Raul vs FC Koln (22nd August, 2011)

The Real Madrid player was set to be a one-club man until he joined FC Schalke. At FC Schalke, he continued his career. Raul was already a Real Madrid academy player at the age of 15. After this Raul went on to become one of the best strikers of his time. Raul scored 323 goals for Real Madrid.

After winning six La Liga titles and three UCL titles he decided to join Schalke FC. In what people thought was his retirement phase, Raul was still playing quite well. His goal against FC Koln in 2011 won the Bundesliga goal of the season. Raul took the ball off the turn and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper.
