Chelsea have put Cucurella on transfer list

According to reports, Chelsea are preparing two successors for Marc Cucurella, their out-of-favour defender. The 25-year-old left-back, who cost Brighton £62 million, only recently signed with the Blues.

But after struggling to impress, he now cuts a dejected figure.

Cucurella has only played in two games this season, both of which were last night's Carabao Cup victory over Brighton, and has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Cucurella allegedly plans to leave his current employer in January after failing to secure a deadline-day loan deal with Manchester United, according to Calciomercato. Chelsea are also content to see the Spaniard go.

Todd Boehly, a billionaire, is rumoured to continue his spending binge, and AC Milan player Theo Hernandez is planning to take Cucurella's position.

The 25-year-old former player for Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid has 25 goals in 173 appearances for his Italian team. Hernandez was crucial to their 2022 Serie A championship triumph.

Additionally, he assisted France in reaching the World Cup final of the previous year, where they fell to Argentina on penalties. Hernandez, though, is committed to the San Siro till 2026.

Additionally, the Rossoneri designated him Milan's vice-captain last year, and they will expect a hefty fee to release him.

It indicates that Chelsea are interested in Inter Milan's Federico Dimarco, a different left-back. Only two whole seasons have the 25-year-old spent with Inter's first team.

But in that period, he has also won two Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups, and made it all the way to the Champions League final the previous year.

Dimarco has scored nine goals in 105 games for Inter, so he can also score on occasion. His deal expires in 2026 as well, but the ace might be offered for less money.
