The former Spain gk is without a club currently
If a big club does not make him an offer to be their first-choice custodian, David de Gea might decide to retire. The former captain of Manchester United and Spain has turned down numerous offers, notably one from Saudi Arabia, as income was not his primary driving force.
David de Gea is maintaining his fitness in the hopes of receiving a bid from the ideal team and an owner who sees him to be at the peak of his career. De Gea, who left United in the summer and will be 33 in November, wants to play for a team that can contend for major awards.
After 12 extremely prosperous years, during which he captured the Premier League, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Europa League, David de Gea parted ways with United.
He won the Premier League Golden Glove accolade twice, notably this past season, was named to the PFA Team of the Year five times and won United's Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award a record three times in a row.
De Gea is rumoured to be unhappy with how leaving United when his contract expired was handled. De Gea, one of United's highest earners at around £375,000 per week, was given a new contract on less favourable terms as a result of Erik ten Hag's desire to take over him as the No. 1 custodian with André Onana.
Because negotiations stalled in July, De Gea didn't get to bid his admirers a kind farewell.
However, after the team acquired Onana, it seems doubtful that De Gea would make a surprise return to Old Trafford. The custodian took responsibility for his error against Bayern by talking to the media, and he will be eager to perform well in the Premier League.
