Manchester United set to remain unsold this season despite being put on sale

Glazers are set to be Manchester United owners for this season as the change of ownership remains hanging, despite bids from Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

In the recent report from Daily Mail, it was understood the Glazers are exploring their options and have thought to be patient with their approach.

'We still don’t have a conclusion. I checked in this morning with those close to the process on all sides who say it remains ongoing. One source described the Glazers as ‘very patient’ people''

To secure a buyout of the Red Devils, Ratcliffe is fighting Qatari financier Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Premier League side was placed up for purchase by the Glazers last November, but they have yet to select an appropriate buyer. The Glazers are extremely disliked at Old Trafford.

The Glazers' intentions remain unknown despite recent claims that they have raised their asking price to an astounding £10 billion. Additionally, a buyer would have to assume the club's mounting debt, which recently reached $1 billion.

Because of its "public" nature, Ratcliffe has said that failure in his takeover attempt is not an option. However, his twofold financial setback and the Glazers' rising demand may prompt "Britain's Richest Man" to scale back his stake in United.

According to Bloomberg, the subsequent half of 2023 saw financial losses at Ratcliffe's two largest chemical companies, INEOS Group Holdings SA and INEOS Quattro Holdings Ltd. Since the second quarter of 2020, neither of the two companies has experienced that.

Various offers have been made by Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim. Sheikh Jassim wants to execute a 100% acquisition, while Ratcliffe wants to purchase a majority stake in the club, which might allow co-chairs Joel and Avram Glazer to remain in their positions.

The Glazers are reportedly divided on whether to sell United. Despite being disliked, Joel and Avram are the most devoted to the team and want to stay active. Bryan, Edward, Kevin, and Darcie, the remaining four siblings, are content to sell out.
