He joined the club as a young boy and has risen through the ranks to become a professional player. His debut on the last day of the season was a fitting end to a memorable year for him. He signed his professional contract in April 2023, and made his senior debut for Brighton on 28 May 2023, coming on as a late substitute in a 2-1 Premier League defeat to Aston Villa. On 6 September 2023, he made his U-19 England debut against Germany.

He said "I am still learning and developing as a player, but I am determined to make the most of my opportunities. I want to help Brighton to be successful, and I want to win trophies" while talking about his future at the club.

During the Premier League Summer Series pre-season tournament, he performed well against Chelsea, Brentford and Newcastle. Brighton’s experienced midfielder and former Liverpool man Lallana said; “Jack Hinshelwood was very good – you’re going to see a lot of him, he’s a very good young player.”

Jack Hinshelwood's Playing style

He is a classy operator, comfortable on the ball, and can play in a variety of roles, including full-back and in midfield. Hinshelwood is also a similar type of player to Thiago Alcantara in that he is very comfortable on the ball and has a great eye for passing. Thiago is a master of ball control and can dribble past opponents with ease.

He is a good passer of the ball, has strong tactical awareness, and is also good at breaking up play. Hinshelwood is also a very intelligent player with a good understanding of the game. He is able to read the game well and make good decisions in possession. He is also a very hard worker and has a lot of energy.

Hinshelwood is a very promising young player with a lot of potential. He has a well-rounded playing style and is able to contribute to his team in a variety of ways. He is expected to get more game time for Brighton in the coming season.

He made an appearance from the bench at Chelsea in midweek in the Carabao Cup and was named in the starting XI today in the midfield alongside Billy Gilmour. It’s a vital position for head coach Roberto De Zerbi but he has shown trust in his young midfielder in the absence of experienced campaigners Pascal Gross, Adam Lallana and James Milner, who are all injured.
