Manchester United and Chelsea scouting Brazilian prodigy Lorran
Brazil has been home to many top talents in football
In the words of Fabrizio Romano, scouts from Chelsea and Manchester United are both "tracking" the development of Brazilian and Flamengo's star kid Lorran.
Since Todd Boehly purchased the team last year, Chelsea have added a few young Brazilian players.
Andrey Santos, a former midfielder for Varco da Gama, was the very first Brazilian to sign with the team while it was under Boehly's control.
The Blues later acquired Deivid Washington, 18, and Angelo, 18, from Santos during the summer recruitment window for a total of €31 million (£26.8 million).
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has also said: “Born in 2006, remember the name: Lorran. He is a very talented offensive midfield player. He signed this week with [a] new agency, Roc Nation Sports Brazil, it’s the agency of Jay-Z, a very important agency.
“He already has a release clause in his contract. From what I’m hearing, it’s €50m. So, the clause is there, people in Brazil believe that he is going to be the next big thing coming to Europe from Brazil.
“What I can tell you is that Man Utd and Chelsea both sent their scouts to keep an eye on the player recently.
In addition, the youthful attacker's contract contains a massive €50 million (£43.2 million) release clause.
Along with fellow Brazilian celebrities Vinicius Junior, Gabriel Martinelli, and Lucas Paqueta, Lorran just joined a similar organisation.
They were additionally considering purchasing Sao Paulo's Endrick, but the 17-year-old has decided to join Real Madrid for €37.5 million and will formally join the Spanish powerhouse at the conclusion of the current campaign.
Manchester United's South American talents
Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri are two South American talents that Manchester United has signed, but they don't have an excellent track record for doing this frequently.
However, it looks like the Red Devils are competing for Flamengo youngster Lorran. Both United and Chelsea had agents "track" the 17-year-old "recently," says Romano.
