Manchester United announce new world-record £65m deal for font-of-the-shirt sponsor

The Red Devils' new shirt sponsorship with Qualcomm sets a world-record
Manchester United have announced a new shirt sponsor after reaching an agreement with Qualcomm. United have agreed a £65 million annually with Qualcomm which will see them become a front-of-shirt sponsor record in the history of football.
According to a deal reached by Manchester United and American technology corporation Qualcomm, Qualcomm's Snapdragon brand will take over for TeamViewer as the team's shirt sponsor beginning with the 2024–25 season.
The Athletic stated Qualcomm and United were settled on a deal for an initial duration of three seasons, with the Old Trafford-based team "reached an agreement worth 65 million pounds ($74.92 million) per year." The club did not disclose the financial terms of the pact.
"Manchester United have agreed to an expanded strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., that will see the Snapdragon brand displayed on the front of the club's famous shirt," United said in a press release late on Tuesday.
In 2021, United agreed to a five-year sponsorship agreement with German tech company TeamViewer to replace Chevrolet as their primary shirt sponsor.
With TeamViewer, United claimed to have achieved a "mutually beneficial agreement" in December, which gave the team the choice to repurchase the rights to its jersey-front partnership.
After agreeing to the TeamViewer agreement amid the height of the COVID-19 outbreak, it continued by saying that it would launch a targeted sales approach in a "normalised market."
"Qualcomm Technologies is already a global partner of Manchester United, promoting its Snapdragon brand.
"Under the expanded agreement, Snapdragon will become Manchester United's front-of-shirt partner from the start of the 2024-25 season, featuring on the home, away and third kits of the men's and women's teams."
United already have a working relationship with Qualcomm, a business that creates processors for telecom devices. The club signed a deal to promote Qualcomm's corporate trademark Snapdragon in August 2022. Snapdragon is a widely utilised component in premium smartphones, PCs, video games, connected cars, smartwatches, and other items.
Qualcomm agreed to advise the Red Devils on forthcoming cellphone improvements at Old Trafford to enhance the fan experience as part of the 2022 deal.
If an agreement is reached between the Glazers' owned team and Qualcomm, the latter will begin supporting the Red Devils' uniforms at the beginning of the following campaign.
