The English forward has joined Getafe on loan

Following his season-long temporary transfer to LaLiga's Getafe, Mason Greenwood said in a 19-word declaration that he was still committed to his Manchester United career.

The 21-year-old was fired from Old Trafford following a thorough six-month inquiry conducted under the direction of CEO Richard Arnold. After Greenwood's arrest in January 2022 on suspicion of a rape attempt, abusive behaviour, and violence, this investigation got underway.

Manchester United made the decision to guide Greenwood's career outside of their team, even though the Crown Prosecution Service ultimately dropped the charges as a result of the withdrawal of a crucial witness.

At first, clubs were reluctant to sign Greenwood, with even Premier League teams choosing not to, ostensibly out of caution. The competition for his services eventually became more intense.

Lazio took the initiative but was unable to contain him, while Besiktas also made an effort. Greenwood was given the opportunity to revive his career when Getafe ultimately won the bid and took him on a season-long loan.

Getafe are only paying Greenwood £25,000 per week, according to information on his LaLiga move. Greenwood is paid £75,000 per week.

According to a story in The Sun, Greenwood does not believe that his time playing for Manchester United is over.

Greenwood's deal with the Red Devils currently has a summer 2025 expiration date, despite the club's public statement that it would be in the player's intentions interests to carry on his career elsewhere.

Greenwood was rated as a £50 million asset before to the incident that resulted in his incarceration. As seen by the loan agreement, Manchester United is therefore not ready to entirely cut off its relationship with him.

In conclusion, even though it's still uncertain whether Greenwood will ever wear the United jersey once more, his transfer to Spain certainly offers a chance for some measure of atonement.
