Meet the most in-form striker in football: Serhou Guirassy

Serhou Guirassy is currently leading the top five European leagues with the most goals in the ongoing season. The 27-year-old was born in Arles, the south of France to Guinean parents. He started his playing career with the sixth-tier clubs of France, Montargis and Amilly. He gained stardom with the Ligue 2 club, Laval, he became the club's youngest-ever pro player at the age of 17.

In the 49 appearances for both the reserve team and the main team, he netted 20 goals in two years with the club. After his spell at the club, he was signed by Lille in 2015 on a four-year deal. His time at Lille was cut short when he was unable to score goals for the club. In 2016, he was sent on loan to second-tier club, Auxerre, while scoring eight goals in 16 second-division games on loan at the club in the second half of the 2015-16 campaign gave him an opportunity to play for the Bundesliga club FC Koln.

Serhou Guirassy was the top goalscorer in all competitions during the 2016-17 season, yet his efforts were not enough to help the German club fight relegation, and they were relegated that same season. A return to France with Amiens and then Rennes saw him raise his level further when he scored Rennes's first-ever goal in the Champions League. During his last year of contract, he was sent on season long to Stuttgart. He made 22 appearances for the club in that season and scored 11 goals, this earned him a permanent deal at the club for three years.

Serhou Guirassy's Playing style:

Guirassy is known for his ability to find space in the penalty area. He is always aware of where his teammates and the opposition players are, and he can use this information to his advantage, he is also able to anticipate the movements of the opposition defenders and is often able to get into scoring positions before they even know what is happening.

The Guinean international somehow possesses the attributes of the England legend, Wayne Rooney, he had that presence in the air, good close ball control, and he was always capable of playing from either of the flanks. Guirassy plays as a forward, has powerful finishing just like Rooney and can be scary during counter attacks.

Guirassy is a rising star in the world of football, he is a player with a lot of potential, and is already making a big impact at the club and international level. If he continues to keep up with his form, he will be a player to watch this season.

Form in the 2023-24 season:

Guirassy's performances this season have been something to watch, he is the only player in the top five of Europe's best leagues to score 10 goals in the first five matches of the season. Harry Kane was expected to take Bundesliga by storm but he is six goals behind Guirassy. Stuttgart currently are the league leaders and are two points ahead of the second place Bayer Leverkusen with them still having a match to play.

To put Guirassy's scoring feat into context, nobody in Bundesliga history has ever had more than 10 goals after the first five games of a season, while only Robert Lewandowski has ever done this for Bayern Munich in 2020-21 season. Stuttgart coach has praised the striker after his recent performance against the newly promoted Darmstadt side. He has been in top form this season, he will hope to continue this form throughout the season and break more records.
