Portugal announce squad for September International break

Portugal have won all four of their qualification matches
Portugal have announced their squad for the September qualifying games for the upcoming 2024 Euro Cup to be held in Germany next year. Portugal will face Slovakia in Bratislava next Friday, before hosting Luxembourg in Lisbon.
At the current rate, Portugal are well expected to qualify from the top of their group as they are yet to lose a game in the qualifiers.
Other teams in Group J include. – Slovakia. Luxembourg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, and Liechtenstein.
Talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to captain the side. The side is to be coached and managed by Roberto Martinez. The Portuguese captain holds the record for scoring the most goals and international football and has the most number of international caps in history.
Talking about Ronaldo’s presence in the team, coach Roberto Martinez said.-
“A player with 200 appearances, that’s something unique,” said Portugal coach Roberto Martinez of Ronaldo, who has scored five goals in four qualifying games so far.
“I can tell you I’m very happy to have Cristiano Ronaldo in my team.”
Portugal won the 2016 edition of the Euro Cup under the captaincy of Cristiano Ronaldo.
