The chief executive of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Nasser Al-Khelaifi, indirectly mocked Neymar and Lionel Messi while praising Kylian Mbappe, the team's current star. In recent remarks about his time in Paris, Neymar said that both he and Lionel Messi endured "hell" at the club. They were happy to quit the club once he joined Al Hilal and the Argentine transferred to Inter Miami, he continued.

Al-Khelaifi declared in an interview with Record that the PSG players this season were more unified than ever before but refrained from responding directly to Neymar's remarks. He stated:
