Alisson Becker and Thibaut Courtois are past recipients of the honour, but who will take home the trophy this year during the ceremony on October 30?

Lev Yashin, in 1963, is the only custodian to have ever won the Ballon d'Or. Therefore, in order to increase the number of goalkeepers honoured at their ceremonies held annually in Paris, France Football established the Yashin Trophy in 2019 to honour the best goalkeeper during the prior season.

Alisson Becker, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Thibaut Courtois are some of the players who have won the trophy in recent years. The title will undoubtedly be fiercely fought in 2023.

Hibbert Courtois earned the 2022 Yashin Trophy and was chosen as the best custodian of the year.

The Real Madrid custodian was rewarded at the Ballon d'Or ceremony on last year's Monday for his outstanding performance in Real Madrid's triumph against Liverpool in the Champions League final.

The top 10 goalkeepers for what they accomplished in the 2021–22 season were narrowed down to Hugo Lloris of Tottenham, Edouard Mendy of Chelsea, Ederson of Manchester City, and Alisson Becker of Liverpool.

This time eventual winner will be announced during the presentation of the Ballon d'Or on Monday, October 30. For now, though, here are the nominees of the Yashin Trophy.
