ISL Fantasy Guru: How your team should look like in Gameweek 5
The team accumalated only 20 points in a four-match gameweek.
Gameweek 5 of the Indian Super League (ISL) is set to kick off today after a relatively quiet Gameweek 4, which saw only four matches played. The reduced number of matches in Gameweek 4 can be attributed to several clubs participating in their respective AFC Club competitions.
Unfortunately, the team was hit with injury woes in Gameweek 4. Noah Sadaoui, had to withdraw due to injury before kickoff in a previous match, during warmups against East Bengal.
In addition to Sadaoui's injury, Mohun Bagan defender Anwar Ali also suffered an injury, but this time it occurred just before the full-time whistle during their AFC Cup game against Basundhara Kings.
Gameweek 4 review
Gameweek 4 in the fantasy Indian Super League (ISL) turned out to be a rather disappointing one for our team, primarily due to the absence of key players from Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giants in our lineup. Furthermore, our misfortunes were compounded by the unfortunate injury to Noah Sadaoui, whom we had appointed as the team captain, forcing him to withdraw before the match even began.
As a result of these setbacks, our fantasy team managed to accumulate a meager total of just 20 points throughout the entire gameweek. Mirshad Michu, who was among the few players to contribute, secured a mere four points. Meanwhile, Sandesh Jhingan, a seasoned ISL defender, made an extraordinary mark by scoring his first ISL goal in his decade-long career, earning an impressive 8 points. Yaser Hamed, a defender from NorthEast United FC, chipped in with one point to add to our total.
The midfield department fared slightly better, with only Rei Tachikawa and Mohammed Yasir representing our team. Together, they managed to secure 5 points, with Rei contributing 3 points and Yasir adding 2 to the tally.
In the attacking sector, Joe Knowles stood alone as our sole representative. Unfortunately, his contribution was limited to just 2 points.
In summary, Gameweek 4 in the fantasy ISL was characterized by a series of unfortunate events, including the absence of key players, the early injury to our captain, and limited point contributions from our lineup.
Gameweek 5 transfers
Anwar Ali’s injury sustained during the AFC Cup looks bad and is expected to be out for long. Moreover, Mohun Bagan has not kept a clean sheet so it is advisable to transfer him out for Odisha FC defender Mourtada Fall.
Gameweek 5 lineup
In Gameweek 5 of the Indian Super League (ISL), our fantasy lineup has been carefully crafted with the hope of improving our performance and accumulating a more substantial points tally. The team has undergone a few changes, primarily driven by the desire to maximize player availability and capitalize on their recent form and potential contributions.
In the goalkeeper position, we continue to place our trust in Mirshad Michu. While the previous gameweek might not have yielded the desired results, Michu remains a reliable option between the posts, capable of making crucial saves and earning valuable points for our team.
The defensive line is where we've made some strategic adjustments. Sandesh Jhingan retains his place and get's the captain armband in the lineup, and for good reason. Having recently scored his first-ever ISL goal, Jhingan's newfound offensive prowess adds an extra dimension to his already formidable defensive capabilities. He is joined by Yaser Hamed, whose consistent performances can help shore up our defensive woes. Mourtada Fall and Akash Mishra complete our defensive quartet. Their solid defensive attributes and potential set-piece involvement make them promising choices to accumulate points.
In midfield, we're making a calculated gamble on Noah Sadaoui, who unfortunately incurred an injury during the warm-ups in the previous gameweek. If he can recover and take the field, Sadaoui has the potential to be a game-changer, and we're willing to give him another chance. Alongside him are Mohammad Yasir and Rei Tachikawa, two midfielders who have demonstrated their ability to contribute offensively. Rei is chosen as a vice captain for his creative capabilities. Muhammed Nemil, another promising talent, fills the remaining midfield slot, with hopes of a standout performance.
Our attacking lineup is composed of Joe Knowles and Lallianzuala Chhangte. Knowles, as our sole representative in attack, will be looking to increase his point tally and make a significant impact in front of goal. Chhangte, with his pace and creativity, adds a dynamic dimension to our attacking options and could be instrumental in delivering goals or assists.
