The 10th edition of the Indian Super League has brought a fresh wave of talent to the league, with the latest addition being French-born Guinea-Bissau forward, Steve Ambri, who recently joined Jamshedpur FC. In an exclusive interview with the club's media team, Ambri shared his excitement and aspirations as he embarks on this new journey with the Men of Steel.

Ambri's warm welcome and high expectations

Steve Ambri, who will don #39, expressed his elation at becoming a part of Jamshedpur FC. He said, "I'm absolutely thrilled to be a part of this club, and I must say, the warm welcome I've received from my teammates and the staff has been truly heartwarming. It's clear that there's a strong sense of camaraderie here, and that's made my decision to join this club even more fulfilling."

The 26-year-old forward, known for his goal-scoring prowess, is excited about the prospect of playing under the guidance of head coach Scott Cooper. He continued, "This marks my first experience in Indian football, and I am thrilled to join Jamshedpur. Playing under the guidance of Scott Cooper is exciting, as our playing styles are harmonious. I am eager to contribute by scoring goals for both the club and the passionate fans."

Decision to join Jamshedpur FC

Ambri also shared insights into the factors that influenced his decision to sign for Jamshedpur FC. "I was told a lot about the club, and after various conversations, including some with Jeremy (Manzorro), I immediately agreed to come here. I have heard about the rich cultural heritage of Jamshedpur and the fervent support at The Furnace. I look forward to embarking on this new chapter with the Men of Steel," he mentioned.

Adapting to new surroundings

Discussing the challenges of adapting to a new environment, especially the climate, Ambri stated, "I have had a couple of intense training sessions with the squad already and I feel good. I have to adapt to the climate, but little by little, it will get better. I have about two weeks before we play the next league game, so I will utilize this time to my and the team’s advantage."

Ambri's goals and excitement for The Furnace

Steve Ambri concluded the interview by outlining his primary goals with Jamshedpur FC. He said, "I aim to give my best in every match to help the team and try to score lots of goals. Also, of course, I am looking forward to seeing the loud fans at The Furnace who will be there to support us. They are the key to help us win matches. I can't wait to meet you all at the stadium, Red Miners. See you soon."

As the Men of Steel prepare to take on Punjab FC on October 22, Ambri's presence on the pitch is sure to be one of the highlights to watch out for.
