Manchester United set to push for Old Trafford renovation post Sir Jim Ratcliffe's takeover
Sir Jim Ratcliffe's 25% acquisition will help expand Manchester United's fortress
The repercussions of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's alleged 25% acquisition of Manchester United are beginning to take shape, and so are the ambitions the club plans for Old Trafford.
Due to the poor condition of the club's facilities, Old Trafford has proven to be a persistent cause of annoyance for legendary Manchester United players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gary Neville.
Their requests might now finally be heard, as Jim Ratcliffe is prepared to spend £1.25 billion to buy 25% of the club.
The club will move through with its plans to refurbish the stadium, which has been needed for more than ten years, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Because Old Trafford won't be one of the venues for the 2028 European Championships, there is resentment towards the supposedly best stadium in Britain.
However, restoration of the stadium has the opportunity to reinvigorate the club and finally elevate it to the top of Britain for club amenities.
It appeared that the proposals for the stadium had been put on hold as negotiations between the two sides went on following a deadlock in the sale process.
According to the reports, United had essentially postponed their arena plans until the takeover scenario was clear. That clarity now seems to have been attained.
Old Trafford renovations appear to be the decision-makers at United's preference over constructing a brand-new stadium.
The cost of renovating Old Trafford and creating a new stadium, according to the same estimate, is nearly comparable. However, there have been fears raised that a new stadium may eventually lose its spirit.
