Ivan Toney is open to leaving Brentford in January

Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, is apparently seeking a fee that neither Arsenal nor Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to pay.

Due to his violation of the Football Association's betting policies, the England international is presently serving an eight-month suspension.

Despite not participating in a competitive game of football since May, Toney is anticipated to draw interest during the winter transfer window because his suspension is scheduled to end in mid-January.

After Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, the much sought-after striker finished as the league's third-highest goalscorer with 20 goals in 33 Premier League games.

Due to his impressive goal-scoring record in the Premier League, Toney is being pursued by several elite clubs, particularly Arsenal and Tottenham.

Toney has been highlighted as a target by the North London rivals, but according to Fichajes, the two teams are unwilling to pay Brentford's asking price.

The Bees are set on keeping Toney on board, and they will only consider a deal that meets their €70 million (£61 million) asking price.

Arsenal and Tottenham, on the other hand, are eager to work out a lesser price with Thomas Frank's team and are not willing to go that high.

The reality that Toney has reached the last two years of his agreement, which ends in the summer of 2025, maybe something the two North London teams are thinking about.

The two primary centre-forward alternatives for Arsenal right now are Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus, though the latter is also dealing with injury concerns.

Jesus' most recent injury setback occurred during Tuesday's Champions League match against Sevilla. As a result, he was unable to participate in Saturday's 5-0 victory over Sheffield United, in which Nketiah scored his first Premier League hat-trick.

Spurs are still looking for a Kane successor after he concluded a summer transfer to German champion Bayern Munich.
